Manager & Coach Code of Conduct

Managers have a very important role to play within the Sheffield & District Fair Play League. The League is run for the benefit of its players and it is up to managers to run teams in accordance with the ethos of the SDFPL. Managers have responsibilities to themselves, their players, teams
and the SDFPL as a whole.

The Code of Conduct forms the basic list of expectations of Managers in the Sheffield & District Fair Play League:

> Managers are to treat match officials, management, players and supporters with respect at all times, both on and off the field

> Managers are to adhere to the rules and laws of the FA and the SDFPL

> Managers will respect decisions made by match officials and by those in authority

> Managers will not engage in offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour

> Managers will avoid bullying, intimidation and poor behaviour

> Managers will shake hands with the opposing team and the match officials at the end of every game

> Managers will promote the playing of the game in the spirit of fair play

> Managers will place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including winning

> Managers will explain exactly what is expected of players and ensure they adhere to the rules and ethos of the League

> Managers will develop mutual trust and respect with every player and encourage players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and actions

> Managers will co-operate fully with others in football for the best interests of players
